Although technically a subcompact crossover, the 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer offers a happy medium between the entry-level Trax and mid-sized Blazer. With a powertrain that enables light off-road excursions, the Trailblazer combines a car-like drive and feel with the power of an SUV. 

If you’re looking for something with a bit more heft than the Trax, consider whether the 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer is right for you. This article will help you make that decision. 

What’s changing for the Chevrolet Trailblazer in 2025? 

Last year the Trailblazer received a major design update. For that reason, the 2025 model has only received minor changes. These include some updated color choices and an engine recalibration to make it E-85 compatible. 

How much does a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer cost? 

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer starts at $24,395 and goes up to $28,995. The actual retail price depends on trim level, add-ons, and a number of other factors.

Powertrain & performance

The 2025 Trailblazer has two powertrain options. The standard 1.2-L turbo three-cylinder makes 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). You can upgrade this to the 1.3-L turbo three, which produces 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with a nine-speed automatic. The latter powertrain has an optional all-wheel drive. 

As far as acceleration goes, you’re looking at a laid-back ride, with the Trailblazer hitting 60 mph in 8.7 seconds. 

Fuel economy

There isn’t much variance among the various powertrain options when it comes to gas mileage, according to the EPA. The base powertrain 30 mpg city, 31 highway, and 30 combined. The upgraded 1.3-L with the nine-speed automatic adjusts that to 29 mpg city, 33 highway, and 31 combined. Add the all-wheel drive, and you’re looking at 26 mpg city, 29 highway, and 27 combined. 

Interior features

The inside of the Trailblazer definitely has an SUV feel, with a higher driver’s seat and plenty of legroom for adults in the back. The base models come with plastic trim, but you can upgrade to chrome accents and colored trim. In terms of storage, you can fit about six carry-on suitcases in the back. Once you fold down the rear seats, that number goes up to nineteen. 

Infotainment & connectivity

The dashboard layout for the 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer includes an 8.0-inch digital gauge cluster plus a 11.0-inch infotainment touchscreen. Standard features include a USB-A and USB-C port, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and six-speaker stereo system. You can add on a Bose seven-speaker stereo system to the ACTIV and RS trims. 

Safety features

Standard safety features for the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer include automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. You can add adaptive cruise control. 

Warranty & maintenance coverage

Chevrolet’s warranty package for the 2025 Trailblazer includes a limited warranty covering three years or 36,000 miles, and a powertrain warranty covering five years or 60,000 miles.

LS

The entry-level LS trim comes standard with the 1.2-L turbo powertrain, plus an 11-inch infotainment touchscreen, HD rear vision camera, and cloth seats on the interior. On the outside, you get 17-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels. 

LT

The LT trim is a step up from the base LS. Instead of silver-painted aluminum wheels, you’ll be driving around in high-gloss black aluminum alloy wheels, plus silver-painted roof rails. For added convenience, the LT trim includes keyless open and start.

RS

Once you go with the 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer RS, things are starting to get serious. Outside, the two-toned roof, 19-inch high-gloss black aluminum alloy wheels, and high-gloss black grille are bound to turn some heads. The RS also comes standard with the 1.3-L engine and its powertrain, as well premium materials for the interior. 

ACTIV

At the top of the line sits the 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer ACTIV trim, which is built to handle off-road adventures. With off-road tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, and rugged skid plates, you shouldn’t fear rugged terrain when behind the wheel of the ACTIV. Yet this performance doesn’t come at the expense of appearance, with a black grille and chrome accents featured all along the outside.
